There is no concrete scientific evidence that Arthritis can be cured by Magnetic Therapy. Despite this handicap, Magnetic Therapy supports firmly believe that Magnetic Therapy is effective in relieving pain.
For arthritis, people believe that Magnetic Therapy is effective because –
- Magnets stimulate nerve endings this helps them to block pain.
- Magnets are said to dilate blood vessels and produce heat by creating charged particles in blood.
- Magnets are also believed to influence iron in our blood. This influence enables the magnets to increase the blood’s capacity to carry oxygen. As the level of oxygen in blood is increased, this may subside the pain to some extent.
Magnets are applied to the palms and soles of the arthritis patient. For some the magnets may also be applied to the outer side of their knees. Initially the magnet application is kept for 10 minutes during mornings for a week. For the following weeks, the duration is increased from 10 minutes to 30 minutes.
There are other sub processes involved too. Such as application of north-pole oil, use of mixed magnetized water to get rid of uric acid deposits etc. These sub processes may vary from person to person depending on the severity of their pain.
