Migraine is due to intolerance of certain foods, stress and certain hormone cycles. A combination of these factors can also cause migraine. One experiences muscular tension in the upper back and shoulders, particularly in between the shoulder blade and the spine. The pain is discomforting. One would like relief from it. Conventional methods of treatment are there, but one can go in for magnetic therapy as well
On experiencing initial signals of pain, one should place the magnets in their respective positions (north seeking pole touching the skin) on the upper back between the shoulder blades, on the top of the feet and on the head.
One may require assistance to fix the magnets on the back. In all cases the magnet should have the north seeking pole touching the skin. The magnets should be in position until all symptoms or danger signals have passed. Pain killers and any other treatments can also be used simultaneously. Try to relax. If one would prefer a hot or warm bath, then apply magnets after drying off thoroughly.
Positioning of the Magnets
The magnets should be on the both sides of the spine in all cases, between the shoulder blade (scapular) and spine just above an imaginary line horizontally across the center of the shoulder blades. The exact positioning is between the shoulder blade and spine, about 1 to 2 inches above the bottom of the shoulder blade on an average adult and proportionally closer to the bottom of the shoulder blade with regard to smaller people.
These magnets can also be placed on the spine side of the top of the shoulder blade, about 1 inch from the top of the shoulder blade. Also on the back of the shoulder above the shoulder blade, still on the back, about midway between the center of the spine and the outer tip of the shoulder. There are other useful and beneficial points as well which are generally the acupuncture points.
Magnets can give relief to migraines. They can reduce the excruciating pain by being placed in particular positions on the shoulder and the back and neck.
